"SHD SO239" Super Heavy-Duty Custom-Made SO-239 Antenna Mounting System
This is custom made for our UHAM Antenna Mounts but can be used for other applications where you need an SO239 jack with an integral 3/8x24 REMOVABLE stud that fits any mounting plate that is at least 3/4 inches thick. This is another "gold standard".
This will fit the new UHAM-150 mount or the previous UHAM-100 mount. It will also fit ANY mount that has a 3/4 to 13/16 inch diameter hole in a panel that is at least 3/4 inch thick. The 3/8x24 provided stud can be REPLACED if you need a shorter or longer one. NO OTHER SO-239 has a removable stud! They are available in a variety of lengths and if you can't find one locally contact us as we can order any size that is currently available. We use "thread lock" where the stud screws into the SO-239 coupler.
This optional mounting system allows you to connect your coax with a PL259 plug directly to the base of your antenna that mounts with a 3/8x24 stud, if you do not want to connect your coax directly to a 3/8x24 mounting bolt.
It is the ONLY SO-239 of it's kind and the only one heavy-duty enough for our UHAM mounts. It is custom made in part by our machine shop. It is unique because the antenna stud can be tightened with the provided allen wrench and other lengths of standard 3/8x24 antenna studs can be screwed into the assembly - the provided stainless steel stud extends 1 inch above the base of the UHAM mount (13/16 inch thick).
NO OTHER SO239 can use different lengths of antenna studs! The SHD SO239 is stainless steel with 6/6 nylon insulators, which are readily replaceable.
The SHD SO-239 is made of stainless steel and custom-made nylon 6/6 internal insulators, which can be replaced. The center conductor is not just "press fit" into the body of the connector as with other SO239 connectors and unlike most other SO239 connectors the center conductor is stainless steel - not softer brass as most are made from.

The photo below is a close-up of the SHD SO230 with dimensions. The left end is where your PL-259 plug fits and the right end is a standard 3/8x24 antenna mounting stud (REMOVABLE!!). Not shown is the provided allen wrench that fits into the PL-259 end center conductor with a special hex head.
The photo below shows the SHD SO239 mounted to a bare aluminum UHAM-150 with a Hi Q Antennas "GQD" stainless steel quick disconnect and heavy duty insulating washer (these are not included with the UHAM or SHD SO239 but are readily available from HiQ Antennas or you can use ANY BRAND of quick disconnect or no quick disconnect at all, and can use ANY BRAND of insulating washer between your antenna and the UHAM mount).
The photo below shows the SHD SO239 mounted to a "matte black" powder coated UHAM-150. The powder coated UHAM mounts have the area masked around the bottom of the antenna mounting hole to obtain an excellent ground to bare aluminum for the SHD-SO239. Also shown is a Hi Q Antennas "GQD" stainless steel quick disconnect and heavy duty insulating washer (these are not included with the UHAM or SHD SO239 but are readily available from HiQ Antennas or you can use ANY BRAND equivalent parts).
The photo below shows an example installation of the SHUNT-100 mounted to a powder coated UHAM-150 mount (antenna V-clamp removed) with the optional SHD-SO239 coax connector antenna mounting system. A coax "tee" is plugged into the SHD-SO239: the coax to the radio is shown on the left side of the photo (with one of several Mix 31 ferrite bead filters and the single wire (14 gauge, stranded) connecting the SHUNT-100 is also shown. Please note that the coax, coax plugs, "tee connector, and single wire are not included, as they are standard parts that you may already have.
