"CNCT-PL259 WXQD" Unique Weather Resistant Quick Disconnect Connector
This unique connector provides a one-of-a-kind method for quickly connecting/disconnecting your PL-259 connectors in 5 seconds while providing a weather resistant housing. This can be used for mobile, fixed or temporary antenna locations - anywhere you want to way to protect your PL-259 connections and want a quick disconnect feature.
No more removing coax putty or electical tape to remove your PL259 in order to remove your antenna from your vehicle or temporary setup!
The housing is weather resistant gray PVC housing. It is compact in size: approx. 5.5 inches long between the ends of the SO-239 connectors and 3 inches in diameter. Also provided is a "blank" antenna side weather cover to keep the "CNCT" weather tight when the coax on the antenna side is disconnected. The external metal parts are all stainless steel - for example the hose clamp is all stainless steel including the tightening screw.
Your coax, any size, connects to the "CNCT" via two provided SO-239 connectors - you should use coax putty, electrical tape and/or self fusing tape to weather-proof the connections to the "CNCT" as you would any outside coax connection - once done you use the "CNCT" to quickly disconnect your coax but leave your coax plug sealed on the outer "CNCT" jacks.
To connect or disconnect your coax, you simply twist the outer PVC ring and pull straight out to disconnect your coax - this does NOT twist your coax as we use a good quality PL-259 slip-on connector inside the "CNCT". All connections inside the "CNCT" use PL-259 and SO-239 connectors so there are no "free wires" inside the "CNCT". Included is a PVC weather cap for when your coax on the antenna side is disconnected - this twists on/off just like the antenna side.
You can mount the "CNCT" anywhere outside or on your vehicle, using the provided 1/4x20 stainless steel bolt and stainless steel hardware (flat and lock washers with two nuts included). The bolt is fastened securely to the PVC housing with a stainless steel hose clamp - this clamp is all stainless steel, including the screw. The CNCT can be mounted anywhere between your radio and antenna.
The "CNCT" has been tested to have very low loss: only 1 watt (1%) loss through the "CNCT". This was measured on 10m and 6m bands - to see the test results click > TEST RESULTS

The photo below shows the internal parts. Note the o-ring on the left half, which is the "antenna side". The right half mounts to your vehicle or anywhere you want to mount the CNCT. It does NOT have to be near your antenna.
The photo below shows how the CNCT-PL259 looks from the rear of a vehicle. In this view the coax is not plugged in to the CNCT. The black object just above the CNCT is a ferrite bead filter on the coax cable.
The photo below shows the CNCT mounted under a rear bumper. In this example, the provided 1/4 inch stainless steel bolt is mounted to the vehicle ground bracket (this bolt does NOT have to be grounded). The coax is plugged into the right side. The provided "weather cap" is shown on the left side, for use when your antenna mount is removed from your vehicle. Note: the PL-259 is shown before it is weather proofed, using self fusing black tape and coax putty.
