The photos above show the CLAMP-200 with some of our options and two different antenna configurations - very versative and heavy-duty antenna mounting base. Numerous options are available for mounting your antenna, ground counterpoise, and even an HF load inductor and second antenna bracket!

The CLAMP-200© (“CLAMP”) is a heavy-duty "clamp-on" mount for amateur, CB and commercial mobile antennas, and antenna masts or flag poles, for fixed-base or temporary use, for attaching to RV or building ladders, and to railings and some fences. NO DRILLING IS REQUIRED!

Folks, the "large antenna" CLAMP-200 is a REALLY UNIQUE heavy-duty base for mounting your mobile antenna. You don't need a tripod. It can be mounted vertically, such as on a ladder, or horizontally, such as on a railing. We offer a variety of options to meet your specific need - all of these are shown below.

This may be just the solution for your small to large HF/V/UHF mobile antennas:

• Fixed-base vacation spot where you want to install your mobile antenna to a ladder or railing, and to some fences. The CLAMP is quickly installed and removed for temporary installations.

• Recreational Vehicle (RV) ladders - VERY sturdy base for mounting even a large HF screwdriver or motorized antenna, and if the antenna is not too tall, the CLAMP-200 can be left on WHILE DRIVING with the appropriate antenna bracket! Just be sure that your ladder is as strong as the CLAMP-200 and can support your antenna. We even include a couple of options for an effective ground counterpoise, which is necessary on fiberglass vehicles for all HF and most V/UHF antennas. If the antenna is too long to drive with, remove the antenna but leave the CLAMP-200 installed.

• Deed restricted neighborhoods - where you need  a STURDY base for an "invisible" antenna system and want provisions for a decent ground counterpoise that is not simply a "wire strung on the ground". The CLAMP can be installed permanently.

• EMCOMM - if your radio trailer or vehicle does not have space for "another antenna" you can quickly install the CLAMP on a ladder, railing and some fences.  Use the CLAMP instead of a tripod which may blow over in a strong winds!

• QRP to full power.

• Amateur radio, commercial and CB antennas

• Light-weight antenna masts and flag poles with an O.D. of 1-2 inches

• Mount vertically or horizontally - we have brackets for almost all mobile antennas that simply bolt to the CLAMP-200 base

• Provides connection points for ground counter poise - wire type or use telescoping whips with optional brackets

Here are some of the horizontal and vertical surfaces that the CLAMP-150 can be mounted to (see the photos below for examples):

• Metal and wood deck railings & fences that have open spaces for the three "clamping bolts" (see photos below)
•  
• Ladders - RV, building, etc.
• Thickness of mounting surface can be up to 3 inches thick (standard) or up to 7 inches thick with optional longer mounting bolts.

The CLAMP-200 and optional antenna mounting brackets are made of 6061 aluminum with 18-8 stainless steel hardware. They come in bare aluminum (shown in the photos) and, by special request, any of our five powder coat colors (click > POWDER COATED PAINT ). The outer "clamping surface" has a weather and wear resistant EDPM rubber layer to provide maximum grip. The inner clamping surface is bare aluminum to "ground" to metal surfaces. Every detailed is considered!

The CLAMP comes with a standard ground mounting bolt with a heavy-duty solder lug for attaching your ground counterpoise wire, and has two available ground counterpoise options for mounting whip antennas as a ground counterpoise, with 3/8x24 threads. We also offer an NMO base with removable ground plane radials for 135-512 MHz.

Some of the "other brand" portable mounts do not have a good (if any) provision for HF/V/UHF ground radial system and therefore will under perform our CLAMP series of mounts!

The CLAMP can be mounted in about two minutes, with a common wrench.

Here's WHAT YOU NEED to set up your one antenna system with the CLAMP-150 & options:

• surface to attach the CLAMP that will support your antenna and counterpoise safely (see above list of mounting surfaces above) - ladder, railing, etc. - up to 3 inches thick (up to 7 inches thick with our optional LONG BOLT kit)

• use whatever whip you want on top of your antenna if required (e.g. screwdriver antenna)
• your coax - plugs into our optional antenna bases
• ground counterpoise
• standard: ground point with HD solder lug (accepts 16-12 gauge wire) provided with CLAMP - your inexpensive stranded wire soldered to the solder lug (four or more lengths each at least 10 ft. long or 1/4 wave length)
• two optional ground counterpoise brackets for your telescoping whips or "CB" whips with 3/8x24 threads; each can be up to 12 feet long
• optional NMO base with ground plane radials, for 135-512 MHz.

The following OPTIONS  are available for the CLAMP-200, and DISCOUNTED if purchased with the CLAMP-200.

All CLAMP-200's are drilled to fit all of our options and, along with all of our options, are blue printed. The following options simply bolt to the CLAMP with provided hardware. We also provide replacement parts (contact us for information).

The CLAMP-200 provides the STRONG BASE and the optional brackets and accessories are what bolt to the CLAMP200 to mount your antenna and ground counterpoise, etc. We provide various optionas, as "one size does NOT always meet everone's needs"!

The following is a list of all options that will work with a vertically (e.g. on ladder) or horizontally (e.g. on railing, fence) mounted CLAMP200. The "option numbers" refer to the Options Selection Table (see below) and options order buttons area - scroll down for this information and to order. The snapshot photos below each option show "what you get" (left photo) and installation examples (more photos are shown toward the bottom of this page).

• Antenna Brackets - one bracket is REQUIRED for the CLAMP, for H/V/UHF mobile antennas (all three fit vertical and horizontal CLAMPs - horizontal mounting also requires the AMB-HMA-1). Or get more than one if you have different antennas - they easily unbolt and install on the CLAMP.
• AMB-BKT-1 (Option #2): Standard "L" bracket (4x4 x 2" wide x 1/4 " thick) that will fit essentially any HF/V/UHF antenna up to a small/medium screwdriver / motorized HF antennas. Comes with mounting hardware and YOUR CHOICE of ONE antenna base, all of which bolt into the 3/4 inch hole: 3/8x24 stud, NMO and SO239. Also available at extra cost is an NMO base with four groundplane radials for 135-512 MHz. Your antenna simply screws onto any of our bases; your coax plugs into the bottom of the bases.  You can purchase additional bases at any time as all of them mount into the ¾ inch hole. These are the same bases shown below under "ANTENNA BASES".

• AMB-Bkt-1T (Option #3):  Extra heavy-duty (6x6 x 2.5" wide x 1/2 " thick) for LARGE HF antennas, with 3/4 inch hole (NO antenna base included; use the insulating washers and bolt that come with your antenna - we can also provide). Comes with mounting hardware. This was designed to fit the new large Hi Q Antennas motorized "6 series" (e.g. 6/80, 6/160), and full size HF screwdriver antennas by High Sierra, Tarheel and others. This is also recommended for the Hi Q "4 & 5 series" antennas. All that is required are two insulating washers and the bolt for the base of the antenna (example shown in the second photo from the left). This mounting hardware comes with Hi Q antennas, and can be purchased individually from them for other antennas. This bracket can fit insulating washers up to 2.5 inches in diameter (and smaller ) – 2.5 inch ones come with Hi Q’s NEW "6 series" 6/80 and 6/160 military style motorized antennas. Other brands of antennas can also use these insulating washers or you can make your own (for 3/4 inch hole).

• UHAM-200: Universal-fit, adjustable, mount for "any brand" motorized/screwdriver HF antennas, with two points of attachment. This is designed for antennas that need a second point of attachment while driving, such as the Hi Q "5 series" antennas and full-sized High Sierra and Tarheel antennas. This is STRONGER and has BETTER INSULATION than their mounts. Will fit essentially any antenna with a base diameter up to 2-1/8 inches (will NOT fit Hi Q’s new “6 series” or "ruggedized" antennas).  Has a 3/4 inch diameter hole for mounting the antenna with your insulting washers and 3/8x24 bolt that comes with Hi Q antennas (available separately for other antennas, or you can "home brew" them). You can also use our custom-designed SHD-SO239 (see below) antenna base if you want to plug your coax directly into the base of the antenna (or you can attach your coax with the two provided solder lugs). Comes in bare aluminum or any of our five standard powder coat finishes. For more details on this mount, click > UHAM200 ).

• AMB-Mast-2" (Option #5): Pair of V-clamps with hardware that bolt to VERTICALLY mounted CLAMPs (e.g. ladders), and will hold a light-weight antenna mast, pole or flag pole up to 2 inches in diameter (O.D.). This will fit some of the telescoping masts, and is great for small beam, dipole or inverted-vee wire antennas. Will also fit the Buddipole^TM mast, and their cool dipole antennas! The hardware is stainless steel and the "vee" base is aluminum.

• Ground counterpoise brackets for those who do not want to use a simple wire ground counterpoise (wire counterpoise radials connect to the provided ground points on the CLAMP and antenna brackets).
• AMB-Gnd-1 (Option #7): Ground counterpoise "ring" bracket for using four of your telescoping whip or CB whip antennas that have the standard 3/8x24 thread. Simply bolts to a HORIZONTAL CLAMP (only). Can be used in place of a simple wire ground counterpoise connected to the CLAMP bracket ground points.

• AMB-Gnd-2 (Option #8): Three (3) sets of hardware for three of your telescoping whip or CB whip antennas that have the standard 3/8x24 thread. Simply bolts to a VERTICAL CLAMP (only). Can be used in place of a simple wire ground counterpoise that the user can connect to the CLAMP ground points.

• AMB-HMA-1 (Option #1): Adapter REQUIRED for all HORIZONTALLY mounted CLAMPs, such as mounted on railings (not used on vertical CLAMPs). Simple but very heavy-duty bracket with hardware that bolts to the CLAMP to fit the antenna brackets and other accessories (see Table 1).

• AMB-Arm2 (Option #6): Second antenna bracket for mobile V/UHF antennas, with NMO base and four removable ground radials for 135-512 MHz. Bolts to antenna brackets AMB-Bkt-1 and AMB-Bkt-1T mounted on vertically or horizontally installed CLAMP (will not fit UHAM200).

• SHUNT-100 (Option #11): Adjustable weather resistant shunt load inductor for those installations that have a low impedance on the low bands (160-40m) resulting in a high SWR, especially for antennas mounted near the ground. This is for antennas that need additional inductance (another type of device is needed for antennas that require additional capacitance). Includes a silver plated coil clip with tightening screw and tin plated solid copper coil. Simply bolts to ANY of our CLAMP antenna brackets listed above, including UHAM200. The coil and clip used in the SHUNT-100 are also available for purchase without the SHUNT case ("Parts_Coil-01", shown in right photo).

• ANTENNA BASES: We provide heavy duty 3/8x24 stud, SO239 and NMO bases, all of which fit into the standard 3/4 inch hole on our brackets and plug dirrectly into your coax PL259 plug. They can also mount into 5/8 inch diameter holes (3/8 stud mount mounts only into a 3/4 inch hole) - we provide stainless steel washers to accomodate the 3/4 inch holes. They include heavy-duty nuts. All are interchangeable on our brackets and are quickly removed or installed. We also provide a custom designed and machined SO239 base for use with our UHAM200 mount.

• Standard bases (Option #9): The CLAMP "AMB-BKT-1" bracket comes with your choice of one antenna base, and others can be purchased if you have a variety of antennas: 3/8x24 stud, NMO and SO239. These can also be purchased separately, and we've sold them to customers for their antenna mounting solutions, without our mounts. Shown above as the left three photos.
• Special NMO base with ground plane (Option #10):  This NMO base with four easily removable ground plane radials covers 135-512 MHz. This base can be mounted in 5/8 to 3/4 inch diameter holes. Comes with "allen" wrench to unscrew the radials from the base. Shown above as the 4th photo.
• SHD-SO239 (Option #12): SO239 antenna mounting base for use only with the UHAM-200.

Here is how you use the table. Each table cell indicates whether the option is REQUIRED or OPTIONAL, determining whether you mount the CLAMP vertically on a ladder or horizontally on a railing - or if you want to be able to use it both ways. If the table cell is BLANK, the option will NOT fit that configuration.

1. Select the type of antenna(s) you want to mount, from the LEFT COLUMN.
2. The SECOND COLUMN shows which bracket is required, at a miniumum.
3. The "OPTIONAL" brackets are not required unless you want these features.
4. The 5th COLUMN shows the OPTION #'s describe about and shown below where you can order the options > scroll down to the "Add to Cart" buttons area at the bottom of this page.
5. The 6th and 7th COLUMNS show which options will work, depending on whether you want to mount the CLAMP vertically (such as RV ladders) or horizontally (such as to deck railing and some fences).

AMB-HMA-1: Kit for mounting our optional brackets with a horizontally mounted CLAMP-200, such as when mounted on a railing. This bolts (hardware provided) to the top of the CLAMP, and all of the optional brackets bolt to this. NOT required if you mount the CLAMP vertically, such as on a ladder. It quickly bolts to the CLAMP-150 with the provided 1/4" bolt and wing nut. With this option and the appropriate antennas, you can cover 160m all the way to 70cm, with two mobile antennas (see list above)!  This is all  you need to mount your V/UHF NMO antenna along with your "main" HF antenna. Your coax plugs into the connector at the bottom of the Arm2 NMO base (see middle photo below).  The extension arm is 13 inches long x 1.25 inches wide and .25 inches thick, and is made of 6061 aluminum. VERY COOL! Our competitors provide smake like this for their tripod mount (which is very large and heavy, by the way) but theirs does not include ground plane radials - this helps to make our CLAMP products HIGH PERFORMANCE! If it doesn't work well we won't provide it, even if the price is less - we focus on performance and will not sell something of lower quality ("lower price") that will not work well.

AMB-Gnd-1: Aluminum ground counterpoise "ring" bracket for installing four (4) of your telescoping whips or "CB" whips, up to 12 feet long each with the standard 3/8x24 threads, for an effective ground counterpoise. Without this option, you can simply connect your own wire ground counterpoise to one of the two (2) provided heavy-duty solder lugs that come standard with the CLAMP-200.  The "ring ground" bolts to the AMB-HMA-1 adapter on a HORIZONTAL CLAMP200, for working with any of our antenna brackets (see Options Selection Table). For a vertically mounted CLAMP200, use the AMB-Gnd-2 counterpoise couplers.

AMB-Gnd-2: Three (3) stainless steel, 3/8x24, couplers with hardware for three (3) of your telescoping antenna whips or CB whips to form a ground counterpoise, on a vertically mounted CLAMP. Additional Antenna Bases with SO239 jack for coax plug:  The AMB-Bkt-1 standard "L" bracket (fits most HF/V/UHF antennas for use with the CLAMP-200) comes with ONE antenna base of your choice. You can order two or all three, as they are interchangeable. All come with the heavy-duty hardware to fit the 3/4 inch diameter hole and are high quality.

• 3/8x24 stud mount - heaviest duty we could find and is rated by the manufacturer for well over 2,000 watts.
• NMO and SO239 - come with heavy-duty nuts and stainless steel washer(s) - something that NO ONE ELSE provides with these types of bases

OPTION 10: "NMO Antenna Base with Radial Kit"    $55.00 USD

NMO Antenna Bases with four (4) ground plane radials and SO239 jack for coax plug:  This special NMO base will allow you to use your 135-512 mHz antenna with the CLAMP-200, with the AMB-Bkt-1 or AMB-Bkt-1-T antenna brackets that bolt to a vertical or horizontal CLAMP200. For horizontally mounted CLAMPs, you will also need the AMB-HMA-1 adapter. This is the SAME NMO base that comes with our AMB-Arm2 second antenna mount - minus the 13 inch second antenna arm bracket (see option 6 above for this item). This special base is provided if you want to install your V/UHF antenna (2m to 70cm) as the ONLY antenna on the CLAMP200 system. OPTION 11: "SHUNT-100" HF Load Inductor, 160-10m       $45.00 USD

SHUNT-100: This unique, weather resistant, contest winning, HF load inductor allows you to lower the SWR on the lower bands  where the antenna impedance at resonance is far below 50 ohms. Most HF mobile antennas, if relatively efficient, will require adjustment of the SWR on the 160, 80 and sometimes 40m bands (assuming your antenna tunes these bands - it will not help if your antenna is not designed for any of these bands). Once adjusted it does NOT have to be adjusted on the other bands, and is "invisible" on the upper HF bands. It comes with a weather resistant case, with aluminum and stainless steel hardware.
